About Jazz Under The Stars 



Although jazz is considered America's unique contribution to the arts, it has been more popular in other countries.  The success of jazz festivals  in U.S. cities and the advent of smooth jazz has  brought our own music  to a growing audience.  Silver Spring, Bethesda, and of course the District all have jazz festivals, and so should Greenbelt. 

Jazz Under The Stars ran for several years, and when I asked Barbara Simon what became of the festival, she said FONDCA would love to have an event focussed on jazz, but there was no one to organize it. So of course I volunteered.   
 

Working with local talent, this year we hope to lay a good foundation with possibilities for future growth.   THANK YOU for supporting this vibrant, living, original American art form.
